Type CSK
Casing Seal Kit
A multi-component, heat-shrink seal
for
pipeline casings
to protect against corrosion.
The CANUSA Casing Seal Kit Type CSK has been designed to provide a permanent seal on
pipeline casings operating at constant temperatures of up to 60oC (140oF).
As part of an underground system, it electrically isolates pipelines from metallic
casings. The type CSK can also be used to prevent the corrosion of above ground flanges
and mechanical couplers. |

| The CANUSA Casing Seal Kit
Type CSK forms a waterproof seal that is resistant to vibration, impact, corrosive gases, and
thermodynamic effects resulting from the expansion and contraction of carrier and casing
pipes, flanges and mechanical couplers. The CSK consists of several components including;
a heat shrinkable one-piece wraparound sleeve, a polypropylene support skirting, and a
roll of filament tape. Depending on the specific application, several optional items may
also be included in each kit. |
| The sleeve is made of a crosslinked polyolefin sheet
coated with a layer of anti-corrosion adhesive. It features the patented
"Snap-fit" closure which allows for fast and simple installation without the
need for special tools or equipment. When heated, the sleeve shrinks firmly around the
pipe while at the same time the mastic adhesive is transformed into an amorphous, low
viscosity liquid, that flows into all surface irregularities. The irradiation crosslinked
polyolefin backing maintains a hoop-stress around the adhesive, so that upon cooling, a
tough permanent bond is established. |

The CANUSA Seal Kit CSK is
available in 500 mm (20") or 860 mm (34") widths to fit almost all
casing/carrier pipe size combinations.
