Tapecoat TC 7025 EZ FLOW EPOXY
Field Applied Joint Epoxy
for Plant Coated Pipes

Ideal for coating joints, fittings and irregular surfaces
in above and below ground applications

Description

Tapecoat TC® 7025 EZ FLOW EPOXY is a versatile liquid epoxy for the protection of pipe and metal structures from corrosion in both above and below grade environments. It is a two-part liquid epoxy system can be used as a one-coat stand-alone protective coating to isolate the metal substrate from the detrimental effects of electrolysis. It is an environmentally friendly, 100% solids coating that contains no VOC’s (volatile organic compounds).

TC 7025 provides exceptional corrosion prevention for protecting joints, patching pipeline coatings, and covering irregular fittings and metal surfaces. This innovative product can be used in conjunction with all factory and field coatings, such as cold and hot applied tape, coal tar enamel, extruded polyethylene, and fusion bonded epoxy. It is applied to a dry, properly prepared surface, either manually or with the use of a power spray unit designed for such purpose. It can be applied to a thickness up to 25 mils, providing a tough resistant barrier when exposed to backfill and soil stress. It is an easy alternative to the complex and lengthy application process of field-applied powder epoxy coatings.

Surface Preparation

Remove all contaminants that would impede bond. Use effective cleaning procedures to remove: moisture, salts, rust, dirt and dust, oil and grease. This may include the use of high pressure fresh water cleaning, using suitable solvents or detergents to SSPC-SP-1, and abrasive blast to SSPC-SP-6.

Application

  • Environment: Use only where application and curing can proceed at temperatures above 40ºF (4ºC). The temperature of the surface and that of the coating itself must also be within these limits. Apply only on a dry and clean surface with a temperature above the dew point to avoid condensation. Relative humidity maximum is 90% preferably between 40-60% (See detailed field specificatons for complete instructions.)

  • Mixing: Pour entire contents of hardener into the resin container and mix thoroughly for approximately 2 to 3 minutes until homogenously mixed.

  • Application Method: Apply epoxy by brush, pad or roller. For spray application use TC 7025 spray grade epoxy .
