During the past several years, our industry has seen a trend towards using "certified" rectifiers. These are simply rectifiers with an electrical approval for use in a certain location by a specific agency. Certified rectifiers, while similar in concept, are considerably different than the common "standard" style rectifier units.

Due to this increasing demand, Farwest now offers UL approved cathodic protection rectifiers. These units incorporate UL tested and listed components and are designed to operate more safely than a standard rectifier. Using UL components increases the durability and safety of the rectifier and will insure that the rectifier will pass all local and national electrical codes. The UL approved units should not require any field or lab inspections similar to those tests required on a standard rectifier.

• The cabinet is constructed with ventilation barriers to prevent sparks from igniting surrounding area materials in the event of a catastrophic failure.
• UL approved paint and paint procedure for the cabinet.
• Dual cabinet door locking arrangement to prevent unauthorized entry.
• Provisions for pole or wall mounting.
• All components are UL listed, recognized, or approved.
• Thermostatically controlled fan for positive ventilation and temperature control.
• All electrical connections UL approved including the unique tap adjustment.
• Hinged control panel for easy access to components.
• Many different ratings available (see chart).
• Available with either standard tap adjustments, solid state automatic control or saturable core type constant current control.
• Available with indicator lights.
• Removable slide-out chassis for ease of inspection or maintenance.

• UL-PPAI – Solid state automatic potential control
• UL-PEAI – Solid state constant voltage control
• UL-PDAI – Solid state constant current control
• UL-PMAI – Solid state constant voltage and current control
• UL-PCAI – Saturable core type constant current control

Example: UL-PSAI 20-5 = Standard tap adjustable UL-approved rectifier with an output of 20 V, 5 A DC.
