CS-10
Portable Current Supply

by Tinker & Rasor

Supplies up to 10A at 12V for cathodic protection testing.

The Tinker & Rasor portable power supply is an ideal DC current source for cathodic protection corrosion maintenance tests.

Common usage is for determining current requirements for cathodic protection and impressing current on an underground structure for assisting in locating electrical contacts with foreign systems such as, foreign underground utilities.

The CS-10 comes with a rechargeable 12V lead acid battery and a 12V lighter adapter so that it can be operated off a car of truck battery. In addition, the unit contains a 9V transistor battery to drive the LCD. This battery has a life expectance of 2 years or more.

The instrument case is manufactured by Pelican. It is considered indestructible and is water resistant..

  • LCD battery: 9V transistor battery.
  • Dimensions: 5-3/4" H x 12-1/4" W x 10" L
  • Weight: 8.0 lbs

Applications

  • DC current source for cathodic protection corrosion maintenance tests:
    - Short location tests.
    - Insulator location tests.
    - Casing tests.
    - Testing insulation joints.
  • Notes:
    1. Not for use in an explosive atmospheres because it can supply current and voltages above those allowed in hazardous (classified) locations.
    2. This instrument will interrupt its own power only, not an external source such as a rectifier. It is not a rectifier interrupter.
