RetroClamp CP
Cathodic Protection Clamping System
by Deepwater Corrosion Services

A simplified subsea cathodic protection attachment solution
for pipelines and other subsea structures.

RetroClamp CP puts the fix where it is needed – quickly & effectively.

Product Overview

RetroClamp CP by Deepwater Corrosion Services is a simple modification to Deepwater's RetroClamp diver & ROV friendly tie-back clamping system. RetroClamp CP allows attachment of anodes directly to the clamp at the pipeline or metal structure. Now an ROV or diver can quickly install retrofit anodes to a subsea pipeline or other tubular section to add local cathodic protection in an optimized and predictable manner. This solution has evolved based on previous project fixes designed and supplied by Deepwater on an ad hoc basis.

RetroClamp CP provides a simple effective solution to localized damage to offshore pipelines, or can provide retrofit to a whole pipeline system if there is a reason why the SmartMat or RetroSled options are not preferred. It provides a perfect fix for damaged field joints, or localized coating damage on pipelines. I can also provide a fix for deepwater mooring components or subsea production equipment.

The anodes can be added to any RetroClamp. Each anode has a net weight of 15 lb (7 Kg) and is cast from either Deep 7 or Deep 10 Aluminum Alloy. Anodes are added in pairs (30 lb) increments to maintain balance and load distribution.

Anodes fit all clamp sizes and are always available
in stock, as are most standard clamp sizes.

A convenient calculator is provided below, which can help you see how much current and life an array of anodes can provide. Clamps can accommodate more anodes as the diameter increases; each anode is sized to provide performance which approximates the original bracelet anodes installed on most pipelines. The cross section is capable of sustaining a 10 year design life in seawater and 15 years in mud.

Simply enter your data on the input side, then press the "Calculate CP Data" button.
