Wireless Coupon Test-Station
by
OmniMetrix

A self-contained, wireless, digital radio monitoring unit for pipe-to-soil,
potential-to-structure, and IR drop measurements.

Description
The OmniMetrix Coupon Test-Station is a self-contained wireless remote monitoring unit for pipe-to-soil and potential-to-structure measurements, and for determining IR drop. NACE SP0169-2007 requires periodic measurements of the CP system to verify a minimum of 100 mV of cathodic polarization between the structure surface and a stable reference electrode contacting the electrolyte. The Coupon monitor automatically performs a decay of polarization measurement to satisfy this criterion.

The Coupon monitor construction is a test station enclosure, and employs a two-coupon measurement system, in conjunction with a copper/copper sulfate reference electrode. One coupon is normally connected to the structure, to duplicate a protected holiday. The other coupon is unprotected. The monitor first takes a potential measurement from reference electrode to unprotected coupon. Then the protected coupon is automatically disconnected from the structure and its potential measured with respect to the reference electrode. There should be at least 100 mV difference between the two reads. The monitor performs scheduled data reports and alarm notification in the event of a less than 100 mV calculation.

The Coupon features wide-area connectivity via digital radio, transmitting data wirelessly to the OmniMetrix secure Internet site. No custom software is required; all you need is a PC equipped with Internet Explorer.

OmniUpdate™ is an OmniMetrix exclusive that performs remote software updates. No need for periodic field visits to the monitor with a laptop; the RM's firmware is automatically updated over-the-air so that your monitors are always running the current version of firmware code.
