Tapecoat HT-MB High Temperature Tape is designed to protect buried and submerged pipe, pipe type cable, pipe joints, fittings, tanks, insulated steam lines, and other metal surfaces from corrosion and electrolysis over a wide range of in-service temperatures up to 250°F (121°C) in constant or peak load operating conditions. Tapecoat HT-MB may be applied to new pipelines and to pipelines operating at elevated temperatures.
Composition
Tapecoat HT-MB is a pre-formed, cold applied, self-adhering coating that is impermeable to water and salt. The specially formulated "high temperature" adhesive is laminated to a woven polypropylene backing. The very aggressive adhesive is kept from permanently bonding to its backing by a tough, easily removed polymer release liner, which also prevents contamination of the adhesive prior to its use.

Surface Preparation
Surface must be dean and dry. Moisture, dust, dirt, rust or other foreign matter should be removed by scraping or wire brushing. SSPC-SP3 Power Tool cleaning is recommended. Remove oil and grease, etc. with suitable detergent. Remove salt and other contaminants by high pressure fresh water cleaning. Optional cleaning method is SSPC 6 Commercial Blast.
