  • Description

    The Santronics Low AC Locator, Part # 3215, is similar to the Santronics AC Sensor 3115, the choice of OSHA, except that it determines the presence or absence of 24-90 volts AC as opposed to 50-600 volts AC. There is no other instrument like the Low AC Locator in the world!

    The Santronics AC Sensor is a hand-held device for determining the presence or absence of 24-90 volts AC in insulated wires, wall receptacles, fuses, junction boxes, switches, and other voltage carrying electrical systems associated with irrigation systems, industrial control wiring, HVAC, and other low-voltage AC wiring.

    Simply apply the plastic probe to a connection, or pass it along an insulated wire. If 24-90 volts AC is present, an LED in the probe will glow bright red. Illumination will cease at a break in the circuit or wire. This instrument can be used to troubleshoot any 24-90 volt AC system. It is a quick "HOT OR NOT" instrument.

    It is not necessary to disconnect the system in question because no contact is required for operation, and current flow is not necessary to locate voltage. Simply touch the plastic tip to a connection point or move it along an insulated wire. If AC voltage is present, the LED light in the tip will glow cherry red.

    There is no ON/OFF switch, since switches can malfunction over time. As a result, the AC Sensor is always on and ready to use.

  • Operating Instructions

    Always hold unit by its body. Keep fingers away from the tip. Remove the end cap to replace batteries.

    Simply touch the plastic tip to a connection point or move it along an insulated wire. If AC voltage is present, the tip glow red. The tip will emit a steady glow in the presence of AC line voltage. It will flicker in the presence of static electricity.

    Prior to each use, the Santronics Low AC Locator may be checked rubbing the probe tip on an article of clothing. This will create a static discharge which should cause the LED tip to flicker red, indicting a properly functioning instrument.

    Treat your AC Sensor with care as you would any other test instrument. Clean Ultimate AC Sensor with damp cloth.
