Navigating the Impact of Tariffs on Farwest Products

The U.S. government has recently imposed tariffs on imports from China, Canada and Mexico, affecting several products integral to cathodic protection:

  • Magnesium Anode Ingots (from China)
  • Extruded Magnesium Rods (from Mexico)
  • High Silicon Cast Iron Anodes (from Canada)

It is important to note that there are currently no U.S. manufacturers producing these specific products. Consequently, these tariffs do not encourage increased domestic anode manufacturing but will lead to increased prices.

Despite these changes, Farwest has proactively secured ample inventory to meet ongoing demand and is committed to minimizing any potential disruptions for our customers.

Farwest Hosts In-Depth DCPro Power Supply Classes

We recently conducted specialized DCPro power supply (rectifier) training sessions at our Downey headquarters.

The training was led by our resident expert and Professional Engineer, John Bollinger and divided into two focused sessions:

Employee Training: A comprehensive day dedicated to enhancing our team's understanding of the DCPro power supply operation and maintenance.

Customer Training: An informative session aimed at educating our clients on the nuances of the DCPro, including the distinctions between conventional rectifier models and the technically advanced Farwest DCPro.

Farwest is committed to continuous education and providing industry knowledge, ensuring that our staff and clients are well-equipped to handle the complexities of cathodic protection systems.
